The Links Scholars Program is an initiative of the Columbia Chapter of Links, Inc. It is designed to identify and support (financially, emotionally and socially) two graduating low-income African American high school seniors from central South Carolina.
Knowledge is Power…And Power Breeds Purpose. The LinkScholar Program Selection Committee will review the applications and make the award selection based on the criteria below. All awards will be made without regard to religion, national origin, sex or disability.
All applicants must complete the scholarship application form and submit it along with required documents to:

Applications must be submitted to the Community Foundation office by March 15, 2012. If this date coincides with a weekend or holiday, the materials are due by 5:00 PM the following business day.
Candidate must be of African American ancestry and a senior at a high school serving Fairfield, Lexington, Richland, Kershaw or Sumter counties.
- Preference will be given to applicants attending a Historically Black College or University.
- Applicants must be entering the freshman year at an institution of higher learning in South Carolina which is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools or a comparable regional accrediting organization.
- Applicants must have a minimum 2.8 GPA on a 4.0 scale and have a combined SAT score of 900.
- Scholarships are renewable contingent on the applicant maintaining a minimum 2.8 GPA, remaining in “good standing” in the college community and providing the Columbia Chapter of Links, Inc. with documentation of each semester’s academic record.
